Parent Your Nervous System
A Workshop Series for Parents and Carers
Are you looking for a deeper way to connect with your child and support their development?
Do you feel that there's more to understand about behaviour than meets the eye?
As an Occupational Therapist, I have seen the amazing and powerful impact of working with children. However, I've also noticed that therapy sessions are just a small part of a child's week. The most significant influence comes from you – family and carers.
This realisation led to the creation of Parent Your Nervous System, a program designed to work more closely with you. It moves beyond brief parent meetings to create a space where we can go deeper, exploring the 'what' and 'why' behind our therapeutic approaches and how these can be woven into the fabric of your family life.

A journey into understanding the nervous system: We all have a nervous system designed first and foremost to keep us safe. This is important and necessary for survival. This can also result in all sorts of behaviour and actions that can be confusing and difficult to live with. When we can better understand how our nervous systems work and influence our actions and emotions, we can connect and support each other more effectively.
An opportunity for self-regulation: We need to understand and experience how it feels to regulate our own nervous systems before we can support others to regulate theirs.
A collaborative space: All families work differently. Our role is not to tell you how to parent, or how your family should be. Instead, we will learn, practise, and reflect on different approaches together, exploring with curiosity what helps us stay present, creative, and effective supporting our kids. -
- This is not a traditional parenting program. We will not be telling you how to parent or how your family should be.
- We will not propose quick fixes or behaviour-change programs for your child.
- We do not think you or your child is broken or needs fixing. -
This program offers a unique blend of information sharing, practical movements, and reflective conversation to help you apply these concepts in real-life situations.
Structure: Sessions will be run in small groups to foster connection and personalised discussion.
Schedule: The program runs fortnightly through the term, with Monday or Tuesday sessions.
Starting: 2 February 2026
